Specialist Procedure Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy

To secure your pet’s specialist procedure, a deposit equal to 50% of the lower end of the estimate is required at the time of booking. This deposit confirms your admission and allows us to reserve theatre time and specialist resources specifically for your pet.

 

Cancelling or rescheduling your pet’s procedure:

Cancellation or rescheduling more than 14 days prior to the scheduled procedure date will not incur a cancellation fee.

Cancellation or rescheduling within 14 days of the scheduled procedure date and before the pre-operative health check will incur a $500 cancellation fee. This fee will be waived if your pet is diagnosed with a genuine medical condition that prevents the procedure from proceeding as scheduled. Supporting clinical notes from the treating veterinarian are required.

Cancellation or rescheduling after the pre-operative health check will incur a fee equal to 50% of the lower end of the estimate. This fee is reduced to $500 if your pet is diagnosed with a genuine medical condition that prevents the procedure from proceeding as scheduled. Supporting clinical notes from the treating veterinarian are required.

 

Why We Have This Policy

Specialist procedures require dedicated operating and dental theatre time, specialist availability, anaesthetic preparation, and staff scheduling. Late cancellations make it difficult to offer these appointments to other patients requiring care. This policy helps cover costs associated with reserving these resources while allowing flexibility for genuine medical circumstances.
